The ReKnewed Youth
The Reknewed youth is a student ministry dedicated to the mission dedicated to the mission of the renewal of all things.
Wednesdays @ 6:30 PM | Upper Room
ReKnewed Youth is a student ministry for ages 12–18 dedicated to the renewal of all things. Our vision: the renewal begins with us Re-Knowing:
Christianity as a Kingdom, not just a religion.
The Gospel as God’s Kingdom now, with Jesus on the throne.
Salvation as freedom from sin and worldly influences.
Evangelism as making disciples, not just converts.
Church as daily intentional community, not just Sunday hours.
We gather Wednesdays at 6:30 PM in the Upper Room for fellowship, worship, and the Word. Teens find belonging, growth, and lifelong friendships here—come join us and be part of the movement!
Ashton Westmorland
Howdy there! My name is Ashton Westmoreland. I have lived in the Imperial Valley my whole life. My dad is a third-generation farmer, and my mom homeschooled me from kindergarten through high school. My parents were actually married at First Christian Church, so I grew up in this church. After graduating from high school in 2020, I attended Calvary Chapel Bible College for two years and received my diploma in Biblical Studies in the spring of 2022. After a gap year working on my dad’s farm, I went to Christian Encounter Ranch and served as an intern for six months, working with at-risk youth.
My goal for youth ministry is to raise up radical disciples of Christ so they may be the salt and light in whatever circumstance the Lord has called them to. With our team of youth sponsors and the church body’s support, I believe we can achieve this and raise up the next leaders of the church. I look forward to serving as the youth pastor here at FCC, and I ask for your prayers for me, the sponsors, and the students.
Hi, I’m Robert Silvas, and I’m thrilled to join First Christian Church as the Part-Time Youth Pastor. I’m passionate about guiding our junior high and high school students and partnering with those who support our youth ministry.
I got saved at age 12, growing up with a single mother who showed me the power of trusting God. After 29 years with the Department of Corrections, I retired in 2024 and now focus on ministry alongside my wife, Carolina. Our daughter Ivanna sings on the worship team, and our son Jentezen is active in youth group.
My goal in youth ministry is to:
Reach students beyond the church walls.
Teach God’s Word so they can apply it in their lives.
Encourage them to use their gifts to impact the world.
Build a supportive community where students feel valued.
Inspire them to live as examples of Christ in their daily lives.
